It takes a person moving out to really realize how much the people who take care of us actually do. From preparing your own meals, washing your own clothes, to buying groceries, the ins and outs of life really hit us. Just this last week I was at the Cougareat and I stopped to look at the 4.58$ lunch I had just gotten from Taco Bell and it hit me. I was not really keeping to my ideal budget.
Budgeting is a hard part of life, but a necessary one for financial success (unless you are making billions of dollars a year). When it comes down to it, I have found these few simple tips helped me to stick to my budget.
- Shop when you're not hungry
- Plan your meals beforehand
- Stick to the plan - a sale isn't saving you money if you weren't going to buy the item!
